1 Jun 2008 - May 08 update

We had a few things on in May which kept us busy.  A lot of the clubs are coming to an end for the summer and that includes Uig Youth Club.  This was our first winter of this club and we enjoyed a party night with games, BBQ and a talk from John MacLean on a lovely spring evening.

It was also the Shipmates weekend camp in Inverness.  We had a busy weekend doing a variety of things including Rollerbowl, swimming and a puppet workshop.  We were delighted that John Wagner and Brian Irvine were able to come in and do activities and talk with us.

All the Skye and SW Ross children got together for a Mad Olympics event.  On a glorious sunny Saturday we took part in a variety of games involving footballs, balloons and bean bags.  Portree put on a wonderful spread of food which included ice cream in a cone for everyone at the end.  Donnie G did an appropriate talk based on running the race.  Medals will be presented at the various Sunday schools.

I also enjoyed a week in Nethy Bridge with the 1st years from Gairloch High School.  They were a brilliant group to be away with and they took part in activities including kayaking, gorge walking and mountain biking.

The last of the clubs are finishing up now with all the usual end of term activities.  We are looking forward to a busy summer with clubs and camps.
